films

obsession
obsession - curry barker (2026)
they told me "backrooms" was the best horror movie of 2026 and this one the second, THEY WERE WRONG. this one is way better, way scarrier, mostly, I think, bc the victim is the scary one, while the vilain thinks he's the hero, "good guys" being the absolute worst misogynists is so real (and so scary).
thelma & louise
thelma & louise - ridley scott (1991)
Can't believe I've never watched this movie before (I started but never finished), it's BEAUTIFUL, but I found thelma so annoying. also I have a massive crush on susan saradon.
the nice guys
the nice guys - shane black (2016)
I watched way better movies than this this month (zodiac - 2007, alien - 1979, spring, summer, fall, winter… and spring -2003) but this silly movie was the one I liked the most. ryan gosling can really do anything.
paprika
paprika - satoshi kon (2006)
the last scene is devastating I can't believe the director died before making dreaming kids. I loves the plot of this movie, idk why people love to destroy cities on movies though
to wong foo
to wong foo, thanks for everything, julie newmar - beeban kidron (1995)
this was SO GOOD, and I got this recommendation randomly from a cut from kyle maclachlan's podcast, he auditioned for miss vida

tv shows

for the record I also watched S3 of interview with the vampire, but this season was confusing and I did not liket it very much
house of the dragon
house of the dragon - season 3
to be honest, I'm liking this season BUT why is rhaenyra such a bad queen??? GIRL I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU! everybody is out there making dumb decisions, it's looking too much like real life for a fantasy show.

articles and video essays

I've read some good articles this month, but honestly I have no energy to comment about them here, I listed some on the commonplace pageif you care to check out.
(clicable titles!)
whimsy
whimsymaxxing - ash callaghan
the tiktoker that said she thinks she’s smart in her head but when she tries to speak she feels dumb is so real, because I feel the same way.
